Youth Vaping Prevention Programs At Fairbury Public Schools Friday

This Friday, January 10, Steered Straight Inc., a non-profit organization, will be presenting a youth e-cigarette and vaping prevention program called “Vaping Me Crazy-Weed Between the Lines” to the Fairbury School District students and staff throughout the day. In the evening there will be a community/parent event. The presenter is the founder and CEO of Steered Straight Inc. Last year, DeLeon spoke at 616 schools in 40 states.
According to Darla DeLeon, Steered Straight’s Executive Director, “Steered Straight, Inc. has a dynamic and engaging assembly addressing the dangers and misconceptions about vaping and marijuana. It gives students the truth about e-cigarettes and what ingesting volatile organic compounds can do to the body. This assembly also discusses how the students are being targeted with marijuana and what the solutions are for them to STAY IN YOUR LANE! This assembly is presented by Michael DeLeon, who is the #1 requested presenter on this topic in the country. These assemblies are followed up with a year long curriculum that is an added asset to current education and each student gets educational materials to take home as well.”
