Meridian’s volleyball team came away with a third place finish at last week’s Crossroads Conference Volleyball Tournament played at the York City Auditorium.
The Lady Mustangs finished play with a mark of 2-1.
In first round action, Oct. 18 Meridian defeated Bruning-Davenport-Shickley in straight sets, 25-17, 25-18.
As a team, the Lady Mustangs were 49-51 serving in the match with Blair Hofstetter, Erin Johnson, Allison Klipp, and Rylee Pieper all with 100 percent on their serves.
Against the Lady Eagles, Meridian recorded 20 kills, led by Hofstetter with a team-high 10 kills, while Klipp contributed six kills.
Eighteen assists were handed by Johnson in the two-set match.
On defense, Hofstetter had four blocks, and Klipp and Hofstetter paced the squad with 12 digs apiece.
With their victory, the Lady Mustangs advanced to semi-final play Oct. 20th facing Class D2 state-rated Giltner.
