Bonham Theatre Project has once again benefitted from the generosity of a community business leader. Area Manager Ron Schacht of Westin Packaged Meats dba Feaster Foods presented a $5,000 check on behalf of the company to the non-profit in its continuing work to reopen the historic entertainment venue.  Cumulative support from Westin has topped $15,000.
“Bonham Theatre Project cannot thank people and companies like Ron and Westin Packaged Meats enough for their continued support toward reopening the theatre. This theatre has long been a part of the community and it will take the combined efforts of the community to reopen its doors. This kind of support is what it is all about,” BTP Board President Brooke Schwab said.

Letters to the Editor

Writer Refutes Hopkins Stance On Death Penalty

Editor:
I would like to refute the  letter to the editor last week by Gordon Hopkins regarding the death penalty. I would like to preface my remarks by averring that anyone can say anything about anybody or anything. Proving it can be quite another thing altogether. God knows, a lot of things have certainly been said about me. Some of it is even true!
Let’s begin with the Innocence Project and its top litigator, Barry Scheck. You remember Barry Scheck? He was one of the attorneys on the team that acquitted, O.J. Simpson. Scheck has made quite a good life for himself litigating for people already gone to their just reward.
