Little Blue Water Allows Reconnection for Special Case

In another water district, turning on an existing hookup for a family would be a no-brainer.
But in the Little Blue Public Water Project, adding a tap is a whole different story.
Board advisers had to consider Monday night if they would allow a family that recently moved onto a farm belonging to Cheryl Huss could be allowed to turn on the previously active pump at their home. They ultimately chose unanimously to do so—but not before significant discussion among the board members and a rally from the more than 20 people who attended the meeting in support of addiing the additional hookup.
The problem is that the water project already is tapped out with the number of users. It has the capacity for 400 hookups and serves 1,400 customers, according to Little Blue Natural Resources District project manager Kevin Orvis.
