After a week off from diamond action the Fairbury Juniors rallied late to post a 10-8 home win last Tuesday evening versus Tri County.
With temperatures in the upper 90s at first pitch, Fairbury scored in all but one inning of the game called after 5 ½ innings due to the two-hour time limit.
Tri County scored the initial run of the game in the top of the second on a passed ball.
Fairbury responded tying the game at one, on an infield error by Tri County in the bottom of the second.
In the bottom of the third, Fairbury’s offense struck for four runs, as Zach Holes drove in two runs with a two-out, two-run single in his second at-bat of the game.
Each squad plated two runs in their respective at-bats in the fourth inning leaving Fairbury with a 7-3 lead.
Tri County fought back in the top of the fifth scoring four times to tie the game at 7.
