“The people in Fairbury and the surrounding communities are really excited about this event,” said Brewer.
“Tuesday Night Thunder will be good for South Central Nebraska and good for Midget racing.
“It will be a great lead-in to the ‘Chad McDaniel Memorial’ and Belleville Midget Nationals,” he said.
The event, scheduled for Aug. 2, also will include the JayHusker non-wing Micro Sprint Cars, said Brewer.
Among the drivers competing in the event are three-time Indianapolis 500 driver Bryon Clauson; past USAC National Sprint Car champion Brady Bacon; and current USAC Midget points leader Spencer Bayston.

Juniors Drop Home Contest Against BDS

It was the same verse to the same song for the Fairbury Juniors American Legion baseball team in last Tuesday's (July 5) home game versus Bruning-Davenport-Shickley.
The Fairbury Juniors had a difficult time of over coming errors, walks, and shutting down the opponent after recording two outs in an inning.
As a result, a powerful Bruning-Davenport-Shickley squad  took charge early and coasted a 10-2 five inning victory over Fairbury.
A tired and sluggish Fairbury offense could not mount any come back in the bottom of the fifth, as the game ended by the eight-run rule.
For the game, Fairbury was 4-16 for a team average of .250 at the dish against BDS pitching.
Compiling hits for Fairbury were Carson York, single, Dawson DeBoer, single, Hinrichs, single, and Brett Sutton singled.
