Lambert and McDaniel Exchanged Vows

Jaime D’Lea Lambert and Jami Lyn McDaniel exchanged vows on August 25th 2014 at the Grand Mayan Resort in San Juan del Cabo, Mexico. The couple celebrated their union with family and friends alongside their 3 children Lauren McDaniel, Landon McDaniel, and Nathan McDaniel during their reception held on September, 6th 2014. The bride is the daughter of Douglas Lambert of Mahaska, Kansas, and Leannes and Brad Boellstorff of Walton, NE. The groom is the son of late Michael ‘Mick’ McDaniel and Sheryl and Gilbert Beadle of Fairbury, NE.

Bolek received Grand Champion Award at Box Butte County Fair

The Grand Champion Overall Female Award was shown by Rosina Bolek of Alliance, NE., at the Box Butte County Fair in Hemingford, NE. Parents Adam and Kristy Bolek (Wiggans) of Alliance.
The Commercial Angus HFR was bred  and raised by Wiggans Angus of Harbine, NE. grandparents Maurice and Carlene Wiggans.

Jefferson Co American Legion Post

Jefferson County American Legion Post and Auxiliary held their meeting at Steele City on Sunday September 14, 2014.
Gospel Group 10 Pieces sang before the meeting. They did Patriotic songs. They did the Star Spangled Banner and we said the Pledge to the flag.
Lunch was served by the Steele City Auxiliary.
Unit Commander Dick Bugbee opened the joint meeting and Dan Swett acting as Chaplain gave the opening prayer. Adjutant Clinton Quintana covered the POW/MIA chair.  We recited the Preamble. The Auxiliary went to their meeting, which County President Peggy Junker presided over . County Commander Robert Eyer presided over the Legion meeting. Vice Commander from District 11 Rob Rose was a guest.
Upcoming Dates for the rest of 2014 and the start of 2015: October 4th, Department Commander and Department President’s Homecoming at the Denton community center. Reservations are needed by October lst. October 12, Fall

Brian Starck

Brian LeRoy Starck, (Starcky, Bo) 42, of Fairbury, passed away September 11, 2014 at his home in rural Fairbury, surrounded by his family. Born, February 14, 1972 to Roger and Barbara (Churchill) Starck. He enjoyed continuing the farming legacy that his father had started and eating lunch that his mom (Barbie) cooked, at his parents most weekdays with family.
He graduated Fairbury Jr. Sr. High School in 1990 and Southeast Community College Beatrice with a degree in production Agriculture in 1992. Brian then returned to the family farm and began farming with his father in crop and swine production.
Brian was baptized in 1983 at the First Christian Church, Fairbury. Brian joined the First Presbyterian Church on March 31, 1991 and served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher when his nieces were younger.

Nancy Lillie

Nancy K. Lillie, 73 of Beatrice and formerly of Diller passed away September 18, 2014.  Nancy Kay Lillie was born October 21, 1940 to Wilhelm and Gracie (Lottman) Baumfalk at Odell, NE.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Diller.  She was a 1958 graduate of Diller High School.  On July 13, 1958 Nancy was united in marriage to Robert Lillie; to this union, four children were born.  Throughout her life she was employed at Johnson’s Café, Metz Baking Company and Peterson Manufacturing.  She loved to garden and feed the birds and squirrels; collect angels and wind chimes; was an avid Nebraska football fan; enjoyed traveling with Bob Geer and spending time with family and friends on her patio.  Above all family was most important.   She went out of her way to spend time with family.  She was a woman of great faith who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Douglas Endorf

Douglas A. Endorf, 54, of Omaha passed away on September 17,2014. He was born on  June 19,1960 to Rolland and Juliann Endorf.  
He is survived by his wife Diane of 25years; parent, Rolland and Juliann Endorf; children, Caresa, Drew and Cole Endorf; siblings, Denise and husband, Vaughn Bartels; Debra and husband, Pete Dewald; nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial Mass will be at 9:30 am Saturday 27,2014, family receiving friends from 9 – 9:30 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 508 W. Angus Road, Gretna, NE. Private family Inurnment at a later time. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family. Braman Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Jerry Dean Davis

Jerry Dean Davis, son of Luther and Irene Davis and brother of Lonnie Davis died September 2, 2014. He was born August 22, 1940 in Fairbury, Nebraska, graduated from Fairbury High School (1958), Fairbury Junior College and Kearney State teachers college. He received his masters degree from University of Nebraska Lincoln. He served for 2 years in Nigeria in the Peace Corp. He taught in Nebraska towns, Clay Center, Friend and Harvard. September 6, 1969 he married Carolyn Coleman of Ainsworth, Nebraska. In Colorado he taught math until he retired. He served as Big Brother for a boy from age 8 through high school. In retirement he drove large trucks and volunteered for CASA. Being husband and father and educating kids were his commitments and legacy. He loved travel, the space program, world news, reading, mountain hiking, and humor in all forms.
