Plymouth Celebration Raises Money for Community

The Plymouth Chicken BBQ and Dance kicked off at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15 with the fourth annual fun run, which boasted 130 people who registered to run.
Wendi Strein, of Plymouth, who organized the fun run, explained that the event has helped to raise a great amount of money for the community over the course of its existence. These funds have been used for various projects in the community.
“Each year the proceeds from the run are donated back to the community,” said Strein. “This year it went to the Plymouth lighting project. I don’t have the exact dollar yet, but it’ll probably be around $3,500 that’ll be donated to the lighting project.”
Strein is glad to see that the event had such a high turnout of people. She explained that the number of people who attend this event has increased in recent years. While this is an important way to highlight what Plymouth has to offer, it also provides another great opportunity.
