Following a demanding workout in practice during the week, Fairbury’s cross country teams finished sixth and eighth in their respective races at last Thursday’s 19-team Fillmore Central Invitational.
On the girls side, the Lady Jeffs had a pair of individual medalists which helped the squad place sixth out of 19 teams with a score of 109 points.
Malcolm was the invite champion for the girls with a score of 32 points.
Sophomore Lilibeth Estrada led the way for the Lady Jeffs earning the 19th place medal out of 83 runners finishing the 5K run in a time of 22:56.2.
Shaye Stall finished in the medals placing 20th with a time of 22:56.8.
Rounding out the runners for Fairbury included Hannah Yantz, 33rd, 24:03.8, Anna Schouboe, 39th, 24:41.7, and Makayla Fletcher was 66th in a time of 27:56.4.
Six runners participated for the Jeffs in the field of 99 runners in the 5K race.
