The Signs Are There. It’s Coming and I Don’t Like It

By Fred Arnold

Hooray Fall!
The heat has broken. We’re all going to Friday night football games in our sweatshirts and jackets. The air conditioners around town are turning off one by one and we’re all thinking about eating soup, baking bread and candy corn with peanuts. The stores have broken out the pumpkins, Halloween costumes and leaf rakes.
Welcome the Third season of the year.
But before we get all excited and start thinking about seeing if our flannel shirts still fit for Fall yard work remember: “It is lurking out there.” Just beyond our view. Just over the hill. Not quite one of the Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse Winter in all of it’s frigid ugliness is not far behind.
 The signs are all there.
