Scoring Explosion

There was no shortage of runs last week for the Fairbury Seniors American Legion baseball team, as the squad traveled south of the state line for a pair of games in Kansas.
The Seniors swept a pair of doubleheaders against Hanover and Linn, scoring double digit runs in all four games.
Fairbury’s offense tallied 63 runs in its back-to-back doubleheader sweeps to improve to 14-7 on the season.
Last Wednesday evening, Fairbury combined to lace out 18 hits, including 11 extra base hits in the two game sweep against Linn.
Fairbury paced by a pair of home runs slugged by Zach Holes, and stellar pitching from Blake Bauer and Keyten Pfingsten, the Seniors defeated Linn in game one, 10-2 in five innings.
After the sluggish start in the field, Fairbury broke the scoreless tie in the top of the second inning.
