Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor,

On behalf of the Walter Kriesel heirs, we would like to thank AkSarBen, Farm Bureau and the Jefferson County Fair Board for being one of the five families recognized with a Pioneer Farm Award.
The County Fair holds countless memories for all of us having been members of the
Happyrock 4-H Club, which started in the Gladstone area. Giving demonstrations in the old 4-H Bldg., modeling in front of the grandstand, the song contest, showing livestock, working the concession stand and so much more. Just as our experiences on the farm have shaped us into who we are today, we give credit to our parents and our faith for this humbling honor. See you next year at the fair!

The Lesser of Two Evils?

By Gordon Hopkins

Democrats: “Phew. Glad that’s over.”
Republicans: “Wanna bet?”
The investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server is over. F.B.I. Director James B. Comey announced that no charges would be brought against the Presidential Candidate. Democrats announced that they were glad to put this all behind them. Republicans, livid that Hillary was not going to jail, demanded yet another investigation. An investigation into what, exactly, I’m still not clear.
