Preserving history one piece at a time

The Work Crew-- Crews help move a building from downtown Plymouth to a different location where it will be restored. Paul Shada of Plymouth helped lead the group of local citizens in preserving a piece of history of their downtown as the building was one of the very first in the village. (Contributed photo)
On Sunday, a group of dedicated people led by Plymouth resident Paul Shada worked to save a building with a great amount of historical value from being demolished.
This group moved the building to another plot of land where it will stand until it finds a permanent resting place.
Shada, with help from others, will restore the building and turn it into a traditional harness shop and a place to showcase the history of Plymouth. He explained that this structure is worth preserving because of its historical significance. It was the first building erected in Plymouth.
