The Journal-news spends countless hours, days, weeks, months and year extolling the virtues of Fairbury. We preach, talk up and tout what a great place it is to live, work and raise a family. Midwestern living at its best. Salt of the earth people.
But an act of vandalism last weekend at Blue Valley Community Action in Fairbury has left our beliefs somewhat in question. Sometime over this past weekend a person or persons broke into BVCA and engaged in odd, random illegal acts. While none of the more expensive electronic items were stolen, nor were client files accessed, things like snacks, pop and change from workers’ desks were taken. Blankets were also stolen as were items used for the WIC Program.
Toilets were stuffed with toilet paper but not flushed and most disgusting of all someone defecated in one of the offices and cleaned themselves with a window curtain.
