Jefferson County population numbers continue to decline. Information from the most recent, U.S. Census estimations, show that Jefferson County is slowly dwindling in population.
Jefferson County showed a 2014 population decrease of 212 people since 2013, with a total of 7,335 estimated people still living in the county. The 2013 estimations had remained the same 7,547 from the 2010 Census counts.
Fairbury showed a 2014 population of 3,927, which was down 15 from the 2010, U.S. Census counts. Plymouth showed a 2014 population of 404, which was down five from 2010.
The population fall from 2000-2010 was much greater in all areas of Jefferson County. Towns such as Reynolds had decreased in numbers by 20 and Daykin had decreased by 10. Jefferson County as a whole had decreased in numbers by 786 between 2000-2010.
