Being in the newspaper business has it’s own unique set of rules. Even when I’m not “at work” I am always on the job.
I have accepted that stories and photo ops come up at odd times and in odd places. In more than 36 years of newspapering I have gotten used to the fact that people will come up to me on the street, at a restaurant or in any public venue with something they think is either newspaper worthy or a cause that the paper should be involved in. I gladly welcome input and always try to be helpful.
Some things however I cannot do anything about and have no control over. The discontinuance of the Ray’s Apple Market grocery insert in the newspaper is one of those things.
