The Tri County FFA Officers hosted an Ag Orientation Night for eighth and ninth graders on August 22nd in the TC Ag Education Department. President Tif Pearson welcomed the students and their parents. Advisor Dave Barnard then addressed upcoming events and opportunities.
The officers conducted six learning centers for all to participate in. Madison Freese sponsored a greenhouse horticulture activity, Savannah Gerlach brought in a class of market hogs to judge, Taylor Cammack set up a range identification station, Alexis Gerritse had an animal science section, Kailey Weichel had the guests answer agri-business questions and Vice-President Pete Spilker offered a station on crop seed identification.
Placing first overall was 9th grader Lucas Weise. Ending up in a tie for second was Hanna Taylor and Gavin Weichel. Earning third place in another tie was Drew Garrison and Kynlee Uher. Other students participating in the evening activities were Ella Crawford, Andie Koch, Hannah Holtmeier, Brevin Damrow, Cole Siems, Logan Larson, Kanin Baker, Natalie Barta, Bryson Haecker and Landen Chapman.
