    Edith Bernice Goebel, 101, of Mahaska, KS passed away February 21, in Mahaska. She was born July 3, 1916, in Mahaska, KS. to Henry & Elnora (Korner) Petersen. No viewing, cremation has taken place. A register book is available at the funeral home in Fairbury. Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm Monday February 26, 2018 at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home Chapel in Fairbury, NE. Memorials to the Mahaska Presbyterian Church.

    Betty J. Wendlandt, 88, of Fairbury passed away February 19, at Gardenside LTC in Fairbury. She was born June 6, 1929, in Norfolk. Services will be Friday, February 23, 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairbury, with Pastor Charles Schmidt officiating. Burial at the Fairbury Cemetery. Memorials to the family’s choice. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury are in charge of arrangements.

    Jim Smith, of David City, formerly of Fairbury passed away Feb. 13 in Lincoln.
    Services will be in Fairbury on March 17 at Union Bank and Trust on 1313 K St from 1-4 p.m.

Niday, 84, of Western, passed away on February 15, at his home.  A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, February 21, at 10 a.m. at Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber.  No visitation.  Memorials are suggested to the Western American Legion or Tabitha Hospice. Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber is handling arrangements.

    Kay Triplett, 61, of Superior, NE passed away January 8, 2018 in Superior.  She was born to Patricia Anderson & Jack Duke, Sr. on May 6, 1956 at Steele City, NE. Survivors are Husband: Fred B. Triplett of Superior, Step- Dad: Richard “Dusty” Anderson, Daughter & Son-in-law: Tasha Triplett & Jack Barnal of Guide Rock, Grandson: Devon Triplett & Rylie Lawrence of Guide Rock, Brothers & Sisters: Jack & Joy Duke of Hickman, Mary & Hank Walker of Topeka, Jerry & Lisa Duke of Steele City, Susie Olson of Steele City, Bill & Joni Duke of Springfield, MO., Pam & Terry Mohni of Hartley, IA., Jeff & Alice Anderson of Hastings, Dave & Bert Wheatridge, CO., Patty & Jim Schnase of North Platte, KayCe Sheppard of Hastings, Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, & friends.

    Memorial Services will be Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home Chapel in Fairbury with Darlene Novotny officiating. Cremation has taken place and burial will be at a later date.

Davis, 66, of Western, NE passed away January 16, 2018 in Lincoln.  She was born March 5, 1951.Survivors are Husband: John Davis of Western, Son: Jamison & Jamie Meints of Omaha, Grandson: Jamison Meints , Sister: Jewell Meints & Peter Lingen of Lynden, WA., Brothers: Truman Meints of West Minster, CO., Douglas Meints & Gregory Meints both of Denver, CO., Terry & Bess Meints of Rancho Belago, CA.

    Memorial Services will be Friday, January 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church – Daykin, NE with Pastor Paul Beyer officiating.  The Family will greet friends Thursday evening from 5 – 7 at the Funeral Home in Fairbury.  Memorials will go to the family’s choice.  Cremation has taken place and burial will be at a later date.  Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury is in charge of arrangements
